So, what can you expect from my art? 

Colourful & quirky paintings. All sold at affordable prices for everyone to enjoy, whether it be through a painting, print or by giving a loved one one of my greeting cards. 

My Indian inspired watercolour painting makes a nice gift to give to someone special or to just treat yourself! 

What’s the best thing about being an artist? 

As well as being creative which is my passion, I get to express the things I love and then share this with thousands of people from a busy corridor, other cities & even on a double decker bus. But I also love it when people tell me they’ll be using a greeting card to write a note to tell someone they love them. I think that’s sweet. 

Professionally, what’s my goal? 

It’s great to see my art in public spaces and it was a nice feeling to see one of my posters on the outside of a double decker bus and another around Liverpool. But eventually I’d love to see more of my art go overseas. As well as doing more professional henna, I’d love for my greeting cards to be part of a professional publisher and sold in high street shops. 

Season of Love - Valentine's Day

With Valentines Day just round the corner Love is in the air and so Love has inspired me to create new mini Valentine's cards. We all like to be in love, it's a warm welcoming feeling in these snow filled winter days and I think love adds to that magical feeling that comes with these picturesque snowy landscapes which are so beautiful. It's a time to appreciate the love we have and to let them know just how much we care. Whether it be your partner, sister, mom or friend. But I think it's a perfect time to let that beautiful stranger know just how you feel! A cute mini Valentine's card is a sweet way to do this. Below are some of my new designs which are for sale in my exhibition or by contacting me direct.

Sunflower Prints & Greeting Cards

This week I've added new artwork to my exhibit at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital. Those of you that want to add some colour and pattern to a blank wall will love my framed macro photography print of a mini sunflower printed with fade resistant ink - I love sunflowers!

My Exhibition Promotional Leaflet

I've been pretty excited with the opening of my exhibition last week at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital. Being a graphic designer too, I've designed a promotional leaflet to advertise my artwork at the exhibit which will be up for several months. My finished design is a good reflection of my artwork - it's colourful and vibrant!

I only just managed to frame & get my artwork ready in time as I've been very distracted with my new puppy. Those of you who know me will know just how much I've loved dogs my whole life, I've never been without one.

Arts and Photography Exhibition

I am really excited to say that I have now been given the go ahead for my next arts and photography exhibition! So I am now getting ready to start preparing artwork and am really looking forward to it! Dates still need to be finalised but all that needs doing is me getting my artwork ready and framed.

My artwork that was part of an exhibition. It was such a nice feeling to know my art was reaching many people. 

The photo above is of some of my framed artwork that was part of 4 month long exhibition. It's such a nice feeling and achievement for me to know that my art reached many thousands of people. It's so nice to see the kind of artwork other people are also creating, I can see their passion. It's inspiring and makes me more ambitious! 

Art was hung in a main public corridor viewable by hundreds of people who walked through daily.

Inspired by my Indian Culture

My Indian culture really inspires me from the lively music, the colorful clothes, the food, the celebrations, the vibrant colors, the peace to the noisy bustling, chaotic city streets which are alive with people. My sister's wedding brought this out even more, I wore a sari which I loved & the wedding day was the inspiration for my Indian art below. 

I started sketching & came up with a few ideas, I simplified the design by taking the background out which also makes it more modern. Some of the sketches were painted using acrylic & others I did digitally. I created this design in different colors as Indians love color. These prints have also been made into greeting cards that can be used for any occasion. 

People tell me they like these Indian inspired designs as they're modern but still have an Indian feel. These designs have also been made into greeting cards.

Volkswagen Beetle Inspired Art

I really love the old Volkswagen Beetles & Camper vans iconic of 1960's. They're unique, full of character & are one of the most photographed cars in the world. They symbolise what the sixties is all about - love, freedom, travel, fun & adventure. That's why I love them, plus they look good too! They've been the inspiration for my VW Beetle greeting cards. I've also created a hand painted print for the Beetle lovers! 

My VW Beetle cards are inspired from my love of 1960's art & culture & VW Beetles & camper vans. My favourite design is the rainbow background one, the colours also reflect the 60's era.

Lots of left over Christmas wrapping paper?

Find yourself with lots of left over Christmas wrapping paper? There are many other uses for unwanted wrapping paper which are ideal for children's crafts. Cutting out a Christmas scene & pasting it onto plain card makes a lovely handmade Christmas card. Use red or green card instead of white card to add a festive feel. Felt tips, crayons & glitter pens can finish off the design. Think of other things to add on like cut out Christmas text & ribbons. You can also create a collage from the cut out scenes as well as using patterned paper which work well in different ways. 

You can also recycle your old Christmas cards by cutting out the pictures & using glue pads to stick them on the plain card to make new Xmas cards  for next year. Or use the pictures as gift tags.
